If you’ve chosen to buy, or are thinking of buying, a Bodum latteo milk frother – congratulations. You’ve made a fantastic choice.
The Bodum makes brilliantly frothy foam every single time you use it. It’s perfect to make that barista style latte, cappuccino, or any other frothy coffee you care to mention. And it’s very easy to use.
To use the Bodum milk frother you firstly remove the plastic lid with the plunger, pour cold milk up to the maximum fill line on the glass jug and heat in the microwave for two minutes. Remove the jug from the microwave, reattach the lid and then, holding the device firmly, work the plunger for around 30 seconds.
After 30 seconds of pumping the plunger, the milk will have doubled in volume, and you’ll have a thick, creamy foam ready for you to add to a coffee base to make a wonderful latte.

An insider’s tips on how to use a Bodum milk frother
1 Use the Bodum jug with a microwave
The Bodum’s jug is made of borosilicate glass. This essentially means it is heat proof and can be used in the microwave. The jug itself is very high quality.
2 Watch your milk level
The glass jug has a maximum fill line. Don’t go above it or when you froth your milk, you’re liable to have a flood. Remember once frothed the volume of milk will more than double.
3 Don’t go overboard on the plunger
There are two complaints about the Bodum that you may come across online. Both are down to the user and not the milk frother.
The first complaint you may see is that the glass jug will break if dropped. Well – yeah of course it will. Bonus tip – don’t drop the glass jug.
The second complaint and probably a more sensible one is that the plunger is prone to breaking.
But again, this can be put down to the user rather than the manufacturer. I’ve used my Bodum frother countless times without a hitch.
When you press the plunger do so steadily and rhythmically. You don’t have to bash the hell out of it. People who break the plunger do so because they push and pull the plunger too hard. If you do that there is a good chance it will break.

To make a great frothy coffee you do need warm, frothy milk – and the Bodum Latteo is perfect for making that foam. But to make a latte or any other drink you need to add the milk to a coffee base.
